Women's Golf

The Glens Falls Country Club offers as comprehensive a golf program for women that you are likely to find anywhere.  With the exception of Thursdays (Men’s Day from 12pm to 4pm) and some scheduled tournaments, there are no restrictions regarding women’s play.

The purpose of the Women’s Golf Association is to encourage fellowship among all women golfers, promote interest in the game of golf, conduct golf activities and tournaments, and recognize the achievements of members.  The league operates under the USGA Rules of Golf.

The Women’s Golf Association sponsors two leagues for weekly competitive play. These leagues offer women the opportunity to play in organized tournaments while enjoying a friendly and fun atmosphere.  They provide the perfect opportunity for new and old members to meet, socialize and enjoy the game. The Nine Hole League plays on Tuesday mornings at 9:00am.  Play is from the red tees and alternates weekly between the front and back nine holes.  The Eighteen Hole League competes on Wednesday from the red or gold tees.  Most Wednesday events are 8:30am shotgun starts with some special events scheduled in the afternoon.  A variety of formats and team compositions are used.

Also for the Ladies, there is an informal Women's Golf Group. All levels of players, including beginners are welcome to come out and enjoy a casual nine hole round. Rules are lax with  emphasize on having a good time. The Pro Shop sets aside tee times between  4:15pm -5:00pm for this group. There is no weekly commitment; Sign up for any week you choose to play.
Following golf, players generally meet in the Grille Room for social time, cocktails and dinner. This is an opportunity to become familiar with the golf course while learning to play or improving your game.

Contact the Pro Shop for more information about any of these golf opportunities.
